It’s so hard to believe it is December! We are prepping and planning for our favorite time of year, when we get to learn about the true meaning of Christmas and the birth of Jesus Christ. It is always such an exciting time for the kids! We will spend a lot of time in the upcoming weeks, preparing gifts for our families, reading from our Bible, and exploring our own family traditions. Our big room has transformed into a winter wonderland, where the children can decorate Christmas trees, prepare and serve “hot cocoa”, and create special treats in our Christmas Bakery. We have several nativity sets throughout the school, where we can act out the Christmas Story as we study it. We also have a few exciting events coming up before Christmas. Our Franklin class with be performing their first violin concert on December 11th. They have been working hard to learn their instruments and are very excited to share what they have learned. We will have a Christmas Festival on December 14th and 15th, so we can share this special season with our families. We will also have a very special birthday party for Jesus before we leave for Christmas Break.
One of our favorite parts of this time of year is helping our community with our annual Care and Share project. This is a great way to learn how to share our blessings with others. This year, we have picked Seton House to receive donations from our students and families. Seton House has requested new stuffed animals to give to the children as they arrive. We will also be collecting pajamas and slippers in various sizes and DVDs for the children to watch while there. We will have a large box just inside the front door to collect donations anytime until December 15th. We will be closed from December 18- January 1st for Christmas Break. Our first day back is January 2nd, when we will start learning all about the amazing world of Art.
