Our Philosophy
Our preschool is one expression of our church’s concern for the families of Casper. The Child Development Center is part of the Shepherd of the Hills Presbyterian Church’s mission. The good news of God’s love must be translated into love, which is demonstrated to others and becomes the basis of the home. As parents and caregivers act in love toward their children and children learn to relate lovingly to other children and to adults, our homes and our society will have a strong foundation.

We hope to offer something more than childcare or a mere preschool education. It is our aim to be a positive force in the early years of your child’s development by giving children acceptance, affection and approval so they learn to relate to God, themselves and the world around them.
Our goal as a Christian-oriented program is to make each child aware of the fact that he or she is a child of God, loved by Him, us, and those around him or her. Children should know that they are unique, individual people. They are loved for who they are, not for what they can do. By exposing the children to a variety of experiences and learning materials, they will develop thinking and listening skills and acquire knowledge to be as successful in kindergarten as they can be. The child and his/her social and emotional development is our emphasis. We truly fee that each child has a God-given right to be himself or herself. We strive to guide the child in discovering who that self is.

Shepherd of the Hills Child Development Center admits students of any race, color, and national or ethnic origin.
