We have had an exciting few weeks around the preschool!

shephillscdc

We learned all kinds of new things about bugs and insects. We even found quite a few to study on our own playground! It’s so fun to come in every day to these children who are so excited to be here and learn new things about this world God created! Over the next few weeks, we will be taking our time learning all about different colors and shapes. We will also be talking about all the things we are thankful for in preparation for Thanksgiving. God sure has blessed us all! We have added new toys to our smaller play areas and learning centers. October is Fire Safety Month, so we have added firetrucks and firefighters to our play spaces. Our 8x8 is now a fun firehouse where children can pretend to be firefighters and put out fires. We were blessed with a visit from Smokey Bear and our local wildland firefighters in October! The kids always love a visit from the firefighters and seeing them in all their fire gear. They even got to shoot water out of the fire hose and take a tour of a firetruck! These visits are also a great way to spur conversations both at school and at home about how to stay safe in the event of an emergency. Our preschool will be closed November 25-29 for the Thanksgiving holiday.

We are currently running a fundraiser for the preschool that will run through November 1st. We are taking orders for Eileen’s Cookies! There is a flyer up front if anyone is interested in purchasing the frozen cookie dough and helping the preschool. It’s a great way to get a leg up on some holiday baking. All of the dough will be delivered to the school on Friday, November 22nd for pick-up, right in time for Thanksgiving!
